Dennis Shepler RIP

Sad news came my way recently...it seems to be a consequence of age! I never actually spoke to Dennis (which is a regret) but I saw him from time to time at some of the famous Texas Birding Sites. The last time I saw him was at Sabine Woods in May 2019. I was going to say hello but he was surrounded by Birders and then he was gone. I'd emailed him on occasion about specific birds and he'd always replied with useful information. His health had been poor for some time but I always admired his courage and good humour. A great man. A nice tribute here...

A year ago today I re-found the STELLER'S EIDER on Papa Westray and got my mate Steve Lawton on it before dusk. A great memory which seems a lifetime away at the moment!
