Loooong drive today from Muscat to Filim. We are staying nearby at Mahout from where I'm writing this. I have 5G!!!
As with any new Site it takes a while to familiarise. After around 30 minutes we settled on a spot and spent till Dusk scanning the Birds on the mudflats in an idyllic setting...

We saw some great Birds but the undoubted star was the enigmatic Crab Plover. We saw around 20 of these superb Birds. High tide was 7.30pm which was unfortunately just a tad late but we did see the Birds reasonably close. Huge numbers of Waders, Herons and Egrets were present. Couldn't find the rare Great Knot though. Still yet more quality time shared with my Son...
