Up early and onto Porthcressa on a fine clear morning. Invigorating...

I made my way towards Little Porth (previous successes include Surf Scoter, Red-throated Pipit, Rose-coloured Starling and Nightingale) and on arrival a pair of Stonechats were waiting for me...

4 Redwings over were new for the Trip as was the sinister presence of a Peregrine gliding across the Bay from the Garrison towards Peninnis. I met Louise with the Cart and after grabbing a couple of take-away Latte's we headed to Porthloo to enjoy them in the sunshine...

Taxi!

A few Waders present...Curlew (4) and Sanderling (20) being the most notable. I tried Borough Farm...

I've seen Hawfinch and Ring Ouzel from this Gate

...and Maypole...

...with nothing significant observed.

A message came through that the "Scilly MEGA" that is Bullfinch had been seen again at Shooters Pool...so I decided to have a crack before Lunch...

A nice spot with thankfully enough room for all present! Initially I didn't spot Simon at the far end but when I did I joined him and we had a great view of the Pool and the area the Bird had bathed in. I gave it an hour but no joy and as far as I'm aware it didn't show again? We had a good chat though (whispering of course) while keeping an eye on the area concerned. Bullfinch is an elusive Species at the best of times but I'm glad I had a go. I added Chiffchaff (in an atypical setting) to the TL here...

...and another Grey Wagtail was noted...

After Lunch at Longstones...

Had to be done at least once!

...we dropped down into Carrag Dhu Gardens once more for another try for the jewel that is Firecrest. We sat on the "same old bench"(there's a link to a song there)...

...and the same old Blackbird immediately appeared...

A fine specimen

After around 30 minutes constant scanning I looking into the tree above the Bird Bath when a male suddenly appeared on an open branch!!! I had my moment at last. Far too "quick for a pic" but that just didn't matter. A stunning Bird in the sunshine.

A check of the Met Office radar showed incoming rain so we called it a day at 4 and headed back. Sure enough it arrived and there's a wet and VERY windy night in store. GOOD!!!

MEGAS everywhere but here but that's OK. A RUFOUS-TAILED SCRUB ROBIN at Flamborough today which would be a County Tick for me. As said previously, I'm FULLY aware that I'll miss Birds by committing here but it honestly doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm where I want to be.

A couple of "good blows" coming up tomorrow...

...and Friday...

Maybe it's my turn?

Stay tuned...
