We drove out to the Arta Mountains in the east and from 10 till 2 I scanned the skies (while Louise read her novel) in the hope of seeing Egyptian Vulture, a rare breeder on Mallorca. Unfortunately it was not to be though we did manage a few Red Kites...
Ravens and another Booted Eagle...
We ended up at Ermita de Bethlem. Somebody kept busy with her Ipad...
and I managed to find my only Crossbill of the trip hiding in the conifers...
I was disappointed not to see the Vulture but it was always going to be a long shot. I was probably too early.
