(Another) Spurn Lifer!

Tried the clifftop this afternoon hoping for a local Wheatear but no luck. Pleasant walk with Bud though. The Sand Martin cliff face at Old Hive is no more and will need serious attention when they hopefully return?

Next down to Kilnsea Wetlands. Not much happening here so onto Beacon Ponds. A Grey Heron (S.80)was a nice surprise...

The Long-tailed Duck is still present and looking well. Unfortunately it was too distant for a pic. Plenty of Brents around...

News came over the radio that the Little Owl (S.81) at the back of Steve Exley's house was showing. Not wanting to intrude I tried to get a view from along the road but no joy. Then I spotted Steve putting his bin out and asked him if I could have a peep. I was soon looking at the Owl through Steve's 'scope...cheers pal! This was my first record of this species for Spurn!

On the way back to Holmpton I noticed quite a few Hares enjoying the evening sunshine...

I finished off with a quick run down Snakey Lane. No Barn Owls but lucked in with these three Corn Buntings in a distant bush, one was singing...

Forecast briefly promising for the next couple of days before the Easterlies return. Hopefully a rush of migrants for the weekend?

Looks like the Black Brant in the middle of the Brent shot?
