Great year tick this morning in the form of a distant fem/imm Merlin scooting low and fast across the Carrs. Birds were concentrated today due to the semi-frozen floodwaters. A nice selection of wildfowl present, the highlights being:-

Pintail 21
Pochard 19
No further sightings of Brambling...
A first winter GLAUCOUS GULL was seen at Wheldrake Ings this afternoon (per R.Slack).
Giving the Valley a good scour tomorrow, forcast looks good...
