Late report due to our last meal out at the Harbour.
I started Saturday with an early seawatch, I had to try at least one! I did it from our Balcony...
Slow going but I gave it a couple of hours adding Great Black-headed Gull, Baltic Gull and Scopoli's Shearwater (2). As I was packing up I heard European Bee-eaters! A flock of 15 circled the Venus Beach Hotel before flying West.
Then a message...
13 Spoonbills over Paphos Headland
I drove down but no sign. I went because I'd seen migrating flocks (eg. Purple Herons) circle the Headland for over an hour!

Before lunch I drove down to Coral Bay for an hour to check out some rough land where Great Reed and Savi's Warblers had been reported. No joy but I did have great views of Tree Pipit and flight views of Fan-tailed Warbler.
The afternoon was split between Anarita Park and Mandria. I was hoping for better views and pics of Roller and hopefully something else...as always! My wish was granted on both counts. A pair performed beautifully in the sunshine for a prolonged period. I also had brief views of a male Rock Thrush sat on a bush but I couldn't relocate it. More Tree Pipits were seen and a Whinchat.
I couldn't find the continuing Collared Pratincole at Mandria but there were a decent number of Wheatears present. Mainly Northern but I did find a couple of Isabelline. After joining Louise at the Beach Bar I scored with a single Black-headed Gull east along the beach.
We leave Monday afternoon, so I have today and tomorrow morning. Hopefully one or two surprises left? Stay tuned...
