Doldrums

Having said that, a triple MEGA situation (as Glen Hoddle might say) in June kept interest alive. Having dipped both SULPHUR-BELLIED WARBLER on Lundy and EGYPTIAN VULTURE on Scilly, news of a GREEN WARBLER on Fair Isle didn't raise the pulse...at all!!! Another long journey wasn't what I was after.

I made a feeble attempt for the CASPIAN TERN at the awkward location of Southfield Reservoir but it seemed the sightings were brief and distant so I wasn't too disappointed, if at all!

The local Song Thrushes are still belting it out...which is nice but other than that, things are predictably...quiet.
