Chesnut Bunting - addendum

The bird has gone/disappeared/whatever...

Don't want to drag this out but I got a text from someone I respect, to inform me that yesterday the Warden had to pick this bird up to avoid it being crushed by a tractor!!!

I'll leave it there...

Hi Alan, I'm afraid your source has provided rather misleading info. here! Here's a Birdforum post from someone I know well and who was there at the time of the alleged tractor incident (Pete Hines): "My video, filmed on Thursday 29th October. Just to confirm, the bird was pushed by the tractor (ie moved out of the way of a moving vehicle, the driver being well aware of it's presence) and was by no means attempting suicide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQts1LdXIDg' You can see Pete's original post here: http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=313738&page=14 I hope this helps! Hi Chris,
I've no doubt that your friends account is true at that time. I wasn't there...obviously. I don't like rumour. I commented on a text I'd received from a experienced birder I know well and who's opinion I respect. Again I've no idea on times, dates or validity. Things can get clouded. If it's accepted...fine, everyone who traveled is happy and deserves their tick, everyone who didn't?...well, personally it doesn't bother me as I don't rate it. That's just my view on my Blog...and lets face it who cares about that!

Good Birding
Alan
